Who are saneface?
[edit source]saneface are an indie rock band from Stockport, Greater Manchester. The band consists of Nic Malabuyoc (vocals and guitar), Lucas May (percussion), Fred Roberts (guitar) and Rhys Mcnish (bass guitar and backing vocals).[1][2]
History
[edit source]The four members – Nic Malabuyoc, Lucas May, Fred Roberts, and Rhys McNish – first met as friends in high school. But it wasn’t until they all ended up at Aquinas College that they started to play together seriously.[2] What began as casual jams in their spare time turned into something much more focused, as they realised they clicked as musicians and wanted to make music as a band.[3][2]
They started playing local venues in Stockport like The Spinning Top and Hazel Grove Social Club, gradually building a reputation for their energetic live shows. Their music is a mix of indie-rock and raw, honest lyrics that have struck a chord with their growing audience. Over time, the band’s sound has evolved, and they’ve become known for their tight musicianship and strong stage presence.[3]
Their debut singles “Bent” (June) and “Reason To” (July) helped to spread the word about their music, with both tracks streaming on platforms like Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music.[4]With their latest single, “greenscreen”, being released on December 6th, they’re continuing to build on their momentum and show they’re not slowing down.[5][3]
Their first single "Bent" gained traction very quickly, and pushed the band further than they have gone before. Giving them the opportunity to be able to sell out a headline show at Manchester Academy 3[6][7] This show saw the likes of tempo magazine coming down to interview them, and brought them to the attention of scruff of the neck, a Manchester based record label.[8][9]
