Psion&amp;#039;s own readme supplied with the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Series 7 Patch (Build version 756)&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, the operating system update Psion released for the [[Psion Series 7]]. The patch shipped as three files: &amp;lt;code&amp;gt;UPDATE.EXE&amp;lt;/code&amp;gt;, &amp;lt;code&amp;gt;Rom_4mb.img&amp;lt;/code&amp;gt; and this readme.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It is the primary reference for the firmware section of the [[Psion Series 7 Troubleshooting Guide]], and it is the evidence that Psion did release a Series 7 operating system update, contrary to the contemporary community position that no Series 7 update would ever exist.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Of direct repair interest: the patch requires an existing build of 750 or greater, it insists the machine stays on mains power throughout, and it requires the DC jack, the main battery and the backup lithium cell all to be removed before the machine is restarted.&lt;br /&gt;
