Sega's own 9-1 Main Circuit Board diagram for the 837-11493 IC BD SATURN MAIN VA0 PAL / 171-6963B PC BD SATURN MAIN VA0 PAL board of the Sega Saturn (Model 1).

This drawing is also the clearest published proof of Sega's designator convention on the Saturn: ceramic chip capacitors carry plain C numbers (C115, C117, C127, C137, C139 …) while every aluminium electrolytic carries a CE number (CE15, CE16, CE19–CE22, CE24–CE30, CE35–CE37, CE45, CE46, CE47, CE48 …). A capacitor list that gives consecutive plain-C designators as electrolytics does not describe this board.

Landmarks: CE45 and CE46 (the two 330 µF cans) at the lower left beside the marked FUSE; the controller ports CN2XA and CN2XB along the bottom with CN8 beside them; the cartridge connector at the right-hand edge; IC10 (VDP1) and IC14 (VDP2) in the upper half; IC17 (SCSP) at the left; the crystals X1–X4 in the centre; the two small satellite boards 839-0750 SATURN P.LED BD VA0 PAL and 839-0751 SATURN R.SW BD VA0 PAL.
