The Macintosh Font Book 1989

The Macintosh Font Book: Typographic Tips, Techniques and Resources is a 1989 book by Erfert Fenton, published by Peachpit Press, Berkeley, California. ISBN 0-938151-05-3; Library of Congress Z286.D47F46 1989, card number 88-34539. The scan is of the second printing.[1] The Library of Congress record gives the extent as xi, 260 pages.[2]

It is a book about typography with PostScript fonts on the Macintosh and LaserWriter: type terminology, choosing and installing typefaces, managing a font collection, creating and altering fonts, and printing, including sending work to a service bureau. Fenton states that bit-mapped fonts are not covered, because the book concentrates on typeset-quality output.[3]
