* Make the parameter <code>1</code> display the string <code>edit</code> by default if it is unspecified, instead of the current behaviour (showing a raw <nowiki>{{1}}</nowiki>).

Currently, this template has a very unsightly <nowiki>{{1}}</nowiki> appearing in the 3rd sentence of the message ('<nowiki>Only administrators and interface editors can {{{1}}} it.</nowiki>') when parameter <code>1</code> is unspecified, as can be seen on the example of this template on [[Template:Protected interface|the actual page for this template (Template:Protected interface)]]. Fixing this problem would save you some effort in the long run (not needing to manually assign a value to <code>1</code> in order for this template to look presentable), and I'm also not entirely sure if there are any use cases for this template where <code>1</code> would have a value besides <code>edit</code> in the first place. : Where MediaWiki replaces the $1 placeholder with actual value for the parameter. This change is not needed, because this template is not supposed to be used anywhere else. <code><nowiki>{{{1}}}</nowiki></code> is not "unsightly", it highlights the fact the this parameter is ''required''. The usages of this template ''must'' supply the correct value to this parameter through MediaWiki placeholders.
