=== What the reconstruction is and is not ===

The reconstruction is:
* A bootable 1 GB CompactFlash image that runs PsionLX's desktop, theme, session and application set on a standard 128 MB netBook Pro, from the card.
* Built on Psion's own configuration, artwork, help, fonts and scripts, installed unchanged.
* Running Psion's patched versions of most of the applications, rebuilt from the exact releases Psion used.
* Matched to the surviving photographs by measurement, where Psion's code for the launcher and button bar is lost.
* Documented: every reconstructed or substituted file says so in a comment inside the file or in the project records.

It is not:
* Psion's build. The lost <code>soho-image</code> root filesystem is not in it, and nothing in it came from that file.
* Running Psion's kernel. It boots the March 2005 community build of the same kernel version, not Psion's 4 January 2005 image.
* Running Psion's library stack. GTK+, GLib, the X server and the other base libraries are the March 2005 community GPE snapshot's, not Psion's patched builds.
* Using Psion's launcher, button bar, desktop background, override icons, or TODAY and TASKS pages. Those are all lost, and the versions on the card are reconstructions.
* Complete. Psion's AbiWord 2.0.12, gkdial 1.8.1, xtscal with NVRAM calibration and GStreamer 0.8.3 plugins are all replaced by the nearest available substitute or left out.
* A copy of the photographed menu, in the working image. That image keeps seventeen menu entries that are not in Psion's photograph (Figment, Summary, Time Tracker, Audio mixer, Go, Lights Out, Othello, Play Memo, Plucker, Program manager, Record Memo, Root shell, Sokoban, Telnet, Tetris, Watch and xdemineur). The archival image, <code>psionlx-cf-1gb-asphotographed.img</code>, removes those seventeen menu entries and moves PDF Viewer into OTHER, so that its PROGRAMS screen shows exactly the 21 applications in the Pulster photograph. The programs themselves remain on the card. The archival image is a snapshot of 28 September 2026 and does not get later rebuilds.
* An installer. It does not write to the internal flash. Images built before 29 September 2026 carried the LX NAND script on the boot partition; see the warning below.
