== Memory card == The QuickTake 100 and 150 store pictures in 1 MB of flash memory fixed inside the camera. The QuickTake 200 uses removable SmartMedia cards, which Apple called storage cards.<ref name="qt100ug" /><ref name="qt200ds" /> * The camera comes with a 2 MB card, a Fujifilm MG-2. It holds up to 20 high-quality or 30 standard-quality pictures.<ref name="qt200ds" /><ref name="til-cards">Apple Computer, "QuickTake 200: How To Identify 2MB and 4MB Storage Cards", Tech Info Library article TA37177, APPLE_TIL_ARTICLES collection, file TA30000-TA39999. Source for: the 2 MB card printed "2MB-5" on the contact side and "FUJIFILM MG-2" on the smooth side; the 4 MB card printed "4MB-5" with the Apple logo, "Apple Computer, Inc." and the SmartMedia logo.</ref> * The QuickTake 4MB Removable Storage Card, M5708G/A, was sold separately and holds up to 40 high-quality or 60 standard-quality pictures. It carries the Apple logo.<ref name="qt200ds" /><ref name="til-cards" /> * Both cards have "-5" in their printed codes.<ref name="til-cards" /> SmartMedia cards were made in 5 V and 3.3 V versions, which look alike except that the notched corner is on opposite sides; Wikipedia lists the QuickTake 200's media as 5 V SmartMedia.<ref name="wpsm">"SmartMedia", ''Wikipedia'', section "Voltages", https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SmartMedia (retrieved 2026-10-02). Source for: 5 V and 3.3 V SmartMedia cards distinguished by the position of the notched corner; older devices supporting only 5 V cards; 3.3 V cards damaged in 5 V-only readers without a mechanical guard.</ref><ref name="wpqt">"Apple QuickTake", ''Wikipedia'', https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_QuickTake (retrieved 2026-10-02). Source for: the QuickTake 200's media listed as 2 or 4 MB 5 V SmartMedia; card readers for 5 V media reading the cards; a figure of 40 standard-quality images on the 2 MB card.</ref> Apple warns that cards other than the type specified may damage the camera.<ref name="qt200ug" /> * Format each card in the camera before first use. Formatting erases everything on the card, protected pictures included.<ref name="qt200ug" /> * Each card comes with four write-protect seals, which cannot be reused. A seal over the write-protect circle stops recording and erasing; a dirty seal may not.<ref name="qt200ug" /> Fujifilm's leaflet for the MG-2 gives it as NAND flash memory, 37 Γ 0.76 Γ 45 mm and 1.8 g, good for at least 250,000 writes. It lists static, electrical noise and removing the card or the power during access as causes of lost data, and says a card will eventually lose its ability to store pictures.<ref name="mg2">Fuji Photo Film Co., ''Image Memory Card MG-2 Operating Instructions'', archive.org item [https://archive.org/details/ffds-7 ffds-7], file ImageMemoryCard_MG-2.pdf (retrieved 2026-10-02). Source for: NAND flash; 2 MB; 37 Γ 0.76 Γ 45 mm; about 1.8 g; at least 250,000 writes; causes of data loss; eventual wear-out; the PC-AD PC Card adaptor for PC Card Type II slots conforming to PC Card ATA.</ref> Fujifilm's PC-AD adaptor lets the card be read in a Type II PC Card slot, and Apple's QuickTake 200 guide describes reading cards on a PowerBook through an optional PC Card adapter.<ref name="mg2" /><ref name="qt200ug" /> Wikipedia gives 40 standard pictures for the 2 MB card; Apple's data sheet, user's guide and Service Source all say 30.<ref name="wpqt" /><ref name="qt200ds" /><ref name="qt200ss" /> Care of the cards is covered on [[Apple QuickTake 200 General Maintenance#Storage card care]].
