In some cases, it may be appropriate to create a new category in accordance with Wikipedia's [[Wikipedia:Categorization|categorization guidelines]], but it is usually better to use the most specific available existing category. It is never appropriate to leave a page categorised in a [[WP:REDNOT|non-existent category, i.e. one whose link displays in red]].
