Atari's own service manual covering both the Atari 400 and the Atari 800. Contents:

  • Section 1 — Theory of operation. Mechanical and electrical description of the motherboard, CPU card, ROM personality PCB and RAM PCB; CPU, ANTIC, CTIA/GTIA, POKEY and PIA pin assignments; the power supply specification (9 V AC in; +5 V A, +5 V B, +12 V and −5 V out) and the memory map.
  • Section 2 — Silkscreens and schematics.
  • Section 3 — Testing with and without the SALT II cartridge.
