If the proposal is uncontroversial or has been discussed and is supported by consensus, editors may use {{edit protected}} to notify an administrator to make the requested edit. Usually, any contributor may edit the template's documentation to add usage notes or categories.
Any contributor may edit the template's sandbox. This template does not have a testcases subpage. You can create the testcases subpage here. |
 | If this template is moved, redirected or deleted, please ask an administrator to update User:MusikBot II/FixPP/config accordingly. Thank you. |
Use this template on the talk page of permanently protected pages. Use {{Temporarily protected}} on the talk page of temporarily protected pages.
If the template in question does not have a /doc page, and the {{Permanently protected}} does not have a nodoc parameter, then the talk page will be categorized in Category:Templates needing documentation pages.
The parameter |nobutton=yes can be used to hide the "Request edit" button on talk pages that soft-redirect to a centralized discussion page.
Note that, despite what the template above says, {{Permanently protected}} itself is not fully protected, it is just [edit=autoconfirmed] (indefinite) [move=sysop] (indefinite).
