Atari's own engineering description of the Atari ST Book: the MC68HC000 main system, the COMBO IC (memory controller, control logic and BLiTTER), pseudo-static RAM and its refresh machine, the IDE drive interface and its register map, the YM-3439 sound generator, the Ricoh RP5C15 real-time clock, the configuration switch register, the SHADOW LCD controller and the 640 x 400 panel, the BLiTTER, and pin assignments for the keyboard, parallel, RS232, MIDI and Pseudo-ACSI ports. Section 6 documents the 120-pin STBook/STylus expansion bus.
