IBM PS2 HMM Supplement XGA-2 Display Adapter

The IBM Personal System/2 Hardware Maintenance Library Supplement — PS/2 XGA-2 Display Adapter/A, September 1990–1992, part number 41G3324, is a 10-page loose-leaf update package, not a manual. It was shipped to service outlets to be filed into the binders they already had.

The package and its filing instructions:

  1. The reference supplement goes behind the "Options and Adapters (Micro Channel)" tab in the IBM Personal System/2 Hardware Maintenance Reference (part number 15F2190, form number SBOF-3989-00).
  2. The service supplement goes into the IBM Personal System/2 Hardware Maintenance Service manual (part number 15F2200, form number SBOF-3988-00).
  3. A diskette supplied in the package updates a Reference Diskette or System Program.

Those two form numbers are worth recording: they identify the two general-purpose PS/2 service binders that almost every model-specific pamphlet on this wiki tells you to use alongside it.

What it does not contain

No text layer — an image-only scan of ten pages.

The diskette is not here, and neither are the two binders the supplement files into. Ten pages of adapter-specific service notes is all that survives in this package; it is not a standalone service document for the XGA-2 and it has no schematic, no parts list and no component values.
