Late Night With Mac Hack 1994

Late Night with MacHack: Mac Tools, Toys & Tales is a 1994 book by Doug Houseman, published by M&T Books (a division of MIS:Press, New York), ISBN 1-55851-395-7. It was sold with a CD-ROM of MacHack software.[1] The Library of Congress record (LCCN 94-22310) gives x, 244 pages; the book's own pages run to 246, and the scan has 257 pages.[2]

MacHack was an annual Macintosh developer conference held in Ann Arbor, Michigan, from 1986, whose Best Hack contest gave rise to the short demonstration programs the book describes. Houseman, who helped run the conference from 1987, tells its history year by year and describes each year's hacks, with codes for System 6 or 7 compatibility, 68040 cache problems, PowerPC, AppleScript or Newton requirements and whether source code is on the CD.[3]

What this book does not contain

It is a history of a programming conference and a catalogue of its hacks. It has no service procedures, parts lists, schematics or electrical data for the Macintosh; Apple's repair documentation is in Category:Apple Service Source. The CD-ROM is not included with the scan.
