The Apple High-Resolution Monochrome Monitor volume of Apple's Service Source is a 73-page service manual for the 12-inch high-resolution monochrome monitor (M0400/M1050 family). The PDF was distilled on 28 November 1995.

Contents

  • Specifications - Characteristics, Controls, Physical and Electrical, Operating Environment (pdf pp. 3-7)
  • Troubleshooting - General, symptom charts for No Raster, Geometry, Synchronization, Video and Miscellaneous (pdf pp. 9-14)
  • Take Apart - Rear Cover, Main Board, Power Supply, Fuse, Contrast Control Board, Video Board C, CRT, LED Cable Assembly, Power Switch (pdf pp. 16-49)

  • Exploded View (pdf pp. 72-73)

This monitor has a separate power supply board that Apple treats as its own replaceable module, which the 12-inch monochrome display does not - the two manuals are not interchangeable even though the tube size matches.

What this manual does not contain

No parts list, no schematic, no component values, and no fuse rating. The Adjustments chapter covers geometry, focus and video; no supply-rail voltage or tolerance is printed.

Pages that cite this document

A CRT display holds a lethal charge on the anode after the mains is removed. Follow CRT Discharge Procedure before working inside one. Apple's own Take Apart chapters open with the same warning.
