Contents

  • Hot Issues (pdf pp. 2-6) - Apple's late-added chapter of field problems, which in this volume precedes Basics.
  • Basics - Overview (pdf pp. 8-11)
  • Specifications - Characteristics, Controls and Ports, Physical and Electrical, Environmental (pdf pp. 13-26)
  • Troubleshooting - General, First Checklist, symptom charts for No Raster, Video and Geometry (pdf pp. 28-38)
  • Take Apart - Safety Guidelines, List of Tools, Tilt-Swivel Monitor Stand, Rear Housing, EMI Shield, Main Deflection Board and CRT/Video Board Module, Video Cable, Front Bezel (pdf pp. 40-76)
  • Adjustments - Introduction to the On-Screen Display, Non-User Controls (pdf pp. 78-107)
  • Exploded View (pdf pp. 108-109)

All alignment on this display is done through the on-screen display, including the non-user controls; there are no internal preset pots to reach for. That changes the shape of a geometry repair completely from the earlier Apple monitors.

Note also that the main deflection board and CRT/video board are replaced as one module - they are not separately serviceable here.

What this manual does not contain

No parts list, no schematic, no component values, no fuse rating, no high-voltage figure.
