Two Apple user documents cover the Apple Express Modem.

The Express Fax/Modem User's Guide is Apple's 1994 manual for the Express Modem and its Express Fax software, part number 030-5409-B, 172 printed pages plus front matter (185 PDF pages). It is written for both the PowerBook and the communications slot versions of the modem.

The guide is a user manual. It has no hardware description, take-apart or parts list, and its "Hardware specifications" section (p. 109) says only that the modem is compatible with the computer.

Apple Macintosh Express Fax/Modem Installation Guide (1994)

The Apple Macintosh Express Fax/Modem Installation Guide, part number 030-5806-A (1994), is an 8-page leaflet for the communications slot card. It covers the box contents, system requirements (System 7 or later, 4 MB of RAM recommended), fitting the card and connecting the telephone line, and a five-point hardware troubleshooting checklist. It has a drawing of the card but no electrical detail.
