Macintosh Game Animation 1985

Macintosh Game Animation is a 1985 programming book by Ron Person, published by Osborne McGraw-Hill, Berkeley, California (ISBN 0-07-881127-9; copyright McGraw-Hill, Inc.).[1] The Library of Congress record gives its extent as xi, 254 pages, LCCN 85-227955, call number QA76.8.M3 P48 1985.[2] The scan here is 260 PDF pages including the covers.

The book teaches animation in Microsoft BASIC 2.0 or later, for a 128K or 512K Macintosh with one or two disk drives. It covers picture animation with the ROM drawing routines, image animation, MacPaint artwork, scrolling backgrounds, collision detection and special effects, and includes four utilities: Pattern Maker, Cursor Maker, a MacPaint-to-BASIC converter and Animation Maker. Appendices repeat the techniques in Apple's Macintosh BASIC and in Macintosh Pascal.[3]
