Macintosh SE Service Source
The Macintosh SE volume of Apple's Service Source is a 126-page service manual covering the Macintosh SE. The PDF was distilled on 13 December 1995.
Service Source volumes are module-level documents. They give Apple's own specifications, symptom charts, take-apart procedures and module part numbers, but they do not carry schematics, board-level parts lists or component values, so they cannot be used to source a capacitor table. Where a figure below is quoted, it is quoted as Apple printed it.

Notable content
[edit | edit source]Two procedures in Additional Procedures are specific to this machine and are easy to miss: Chassis Tab Modification and Identifying SE Logic Boards. Apple's battery verification for the SE is done with the cover off, the CRT discharged and the logic board removed.
What this manual does not contain
[edit | edit source]- No schematic, no parts list, no component values. The analogue board and power supply are treated as one replaceable module.
- There is no voltage adjustment — the Adjustments chapter is Yoke and Video only. The "adjust R56 for +5 V" procedure that circulates for compact Macs belongs to the 128K/512K/Plus power/sweep board and does not exist here.
