Psion's own labelled diagram of the underside of the Psion Series 7, identifying the docking connector, the lithium backup battery door, the loudspeaker and — in the enlarged inset — the reset button, which sits inside the backup battery compartment beside the coin cell.
That inset is the reference for both reset procedures: a gentle press until a click for a soft reset, or a press until the screen goes off followed by holding both Shift keys for a hard reset. See Psion Series 7 Troubleshooting Guide.
