IBM PS2 and PC BIOS Interface Technical Reference (April 1987)
The IBM Personal System/2 and Personal Computer BIOS Interface Technical Reference, First Edition (April 1987), is the 218-page original of IBM's combined BIOS reference, published alongside the first PS/2 machines. It covers the PC Convertible, PCjr, Personal Computer, XT, AT and the first PS/2 models.
What it contains
[edit | edit source]- Section 1, Introduction to BIOS — interrupts, parameter passing, data areas and ROM tables, BIOS level determination and the system groups.
- Section 2, Interrupts — the interrupt reference, with the differences between products called out explicitly.
- Section 3, BIOS Data Areas and ROM Tables.
What it does not contain
[edit | edit source]No BIOS listing, no ABIOS (that arrives in the May 1988 second edition, which is more than twice the size), no hardware service content and no component values. If you are working on a 1988-or-later PS/2, use the second edition.
