What it settles
editAppendix C gives Apple's specification. The marking engine is given as a Canon EX. Both controllers have a 25 MHz 68030 and 2 MB of ROM; the Pro 600 has 4 MB of RAM and the Pro 630 8 MB, both expandable to 32 MB. Both have LocalTalk/RS-422, RS-232 and Centronics parallel ports, and the Pro 630 adds Ethernet and SCSI. The laser is a 780 nm, 5 mW GaAlAs semiconductor laser. Speed is up to eight pages per minute. Minimum life expectancy is five years or 450,000 pages and the recommended service interval is 200,000 pages. The supply range is 90-110.5 V or 103.5-126.5 V AC at 58-62 Hz (US and Japan) or 194-264 V AC at 48-52 Hz (Europe and Australia); consumption is about 95 W on standby and up to 560 W at 100-115 V or 530 W at 220-240 V. The printer weighs 39 lb.[2] The LaserWriter Pro 600/630 Service Source names the engine as a Canon LBP-B270 and gives 8 MB for the Pro 600, noting that some early-1993 units shipped with 4 MB.
The communication settings table lists the port settings, baud rate, flow control and mode for each position of the rear push-button switch. Positions 0-5 are fixed and positions 6-9 can be changed with the LaserWriter Utility.[3] The accessories list gives order numbers such as M6018G/A for the toner cartridge and M5859G/A for the Pro 630 controller card upgrade.[4]
