Acorn Archimedes Retail Price List 1987
The Acorn High Performance Computer Systems Retail Price List and its companion Pricing sheet (Acorn Computers Limited, 1987) are the dealer documents that record the Archimedes range's launch prices. They are the primary source for what each machine actually cost in June 1987, and they settle several figures that are commonly misquoted.

The list also prices the launch upgrades: ADF10 Econet £43.47, AKA51 0.5 MByte RAM £89.00, AKD50 second floppy disc £125.00, AKD52 20 MByte hard disc and podule £499.00 (300 series only), AKA01 podule backplane £39.00, and the A Series Reference Manual (AKJ01) at £19.95. Software and language prices are given for View, ViewSheet, ViewStore, ANSI C, ISO-Pascal, Fortran 77, Prolog, Lisp and others.
What these sheets do not cover
[edit | edit source]They are 1987 documents. They do not cover the A3000, the A400/1 series, the A540 or the A5000, and they do not record the later price cuts. The 410 is listed but Acorn's own later price lists moved its availability date twice and it is doubtful that the original A410 was ever sold.
