What it settles
[edit | edit source]- Four electrical parts lists, one per machine, plus two more for the monitors — value, circuit reference and Amstrad part number for every component. These are the component-level source for the 464 Plus, 6128 Plus and GX4000.
- The GX4000 exists in two board variants, and Amstrad documents them separately: the standard board and a France board with its own top and bottom views, its own power regulator schematic and its own output interface schematic. A GX4000 whose regulator section does not match the drawing is not necessarily modified — check which board it is first.
- Amstrad's note to engineers records that an RP11 diagnostic ROM cartridge was available for this range, with its own user instruction manual.
- Safety test figures: monitors are flash-tested at 1.5 kV RMS for 3 s between the mains live/neutral and all accessible exterior metal; the insulation resistance test at the same voltage must show greater than 4 MΩ; and the earth continuity of the mains lead must not exceed 0.5 Ω. Amstrad marks safety-critical items with a part-number prefix and requires like-for-like replacement.
- Cassette deck alignment is given against a named test tape (MIT-113, 6.34 kHz), and the luminance signal output is set with VR101 to 1.65 V measured at pin 3 of J102.
