AppleDesign Powered Speakers Service Source
The AppleDesign Powered Speakers Service Source is Apple Computer's service manual for the AppleDesign Powered Speakers and the AppleDesign Powered Speakers II. The hosted copy is the 29-page PDF from the Service Source 2.0 CD-ROM set of 1996; the PDF's creation date is 13 November 1995. The manual states that the original speakers are repaired by module exchange and the II by exchanging the whole unit.

The Service Source 2.5 CD of 1997 carries a 14-page edition of the same manual without the parts pages.
What this manual does not contain
[edit | edit source]No take-apart procedure, no schematic, no board layout and no component-level parts list. Troubleshooting covers cables, controls and power only. The electrical specification is printed once for both models; Apple's Tech Info Library article on the II gives that model a 12 V supply and 24 W maximum, where the Service Source has 15 V and 40 W.
