Apple 3.5 Drive Service Source
The Apple 3.5 Drive volume of Apple's Service Source is a 27-page service manual for the external 800K 3.5-inch drive sold as the Apple 3.5 Drive (A9M0106). The PDF was distilled on 20 October 1995.
Of the three external floppy drive manuals on this wiki this is the useful one, because it is the only one of the three with a Specifications chapter. The figures below are the ones to cite for an 800K Apple external drive.

The peak +12 V figure of 600 mA during eject is the number that matters when a machine restarts or browns out as a disk is ejected.

What this manual does not contain
[edit | edit source]Module-level only. The symptom chart's cures are "replace drive mechanism", "replace external drive cable", "replace LED assembly". There is no parts list, no schematic and no component value anywhere in it, and no head-alignment or speed-adjustment procedure.
