Apple Service Guide Laserwriter Printers Volume Iv Nov 1995

The Apple Service Guide for LaserWriter Printers, Volume IV, November 1995 is devoted to a single machine: the Color LaserWriter 12/600 PS.

It is the most component-aware of the four volumes. It carries a block diagram, named DC and Mechanical Controller Boards, two wiring diagrams, and a symptom-driven print-quality section written in the language of what the user actually sees.

Two items are distinctive and are worth knowing before touching one of these printers: the fuser oil pump error that moving the printer can cause, and the Separation Voltage Designation setting, which is a service adjustment rather than a user one.

What this guide does not contain

No schematic. The block diagram and wiring diagrams show function and interconnection; the controller-board pages are locators. No component values, and the parts list is Apple's selection of service modules and consumables.
