Borland Turbo Pascal 1986
Turbo Pascal for the Mac: User's Guide and Reference Manual is Borland International's 1986 manual for its Turbo Pascal compiler for the Macintosh, published by Borland in Scotts Valley, California. The scan is of the first edition, second printing.[1] The Library of Congress record gives the extent as xvi, 462 pages.[2]
The title page of this copy carries a Borland Scholar Program stamp: the text was prepared for the programme, sold at a special price for use in an approved course curriculum, and not for resale outside the academic community.[1] The scan opens with Borland's No-Nonsense License Statement, which asks the buyer to treat the software "just like a book", and the product registration card.[3] Borland's advertisement on the last page gives the minimum system as 256K and one 400K drive.[4]
The manual is in three sections: a User's Guide (Part I) that takes a beginner from setting up through writing Macintosh applications and desk accessories, a Reference Section (Part II) on the language, and appendices, followed by a glossary and index.[5]
