Byte Programmers Cookbook 1994

From RetroTechCollection

BYTE's Mac Programmer's Cookbook is a 1994 book by Rob Terrell, published by Osborne McGraw-Hill of Berkeley, California. ISBN 0-07-882062-6.[1] The Library of Congress record gives the extent as xv, 246 pages.[2]

The book surveys shareware and freeware tools for Macintosh programmers: utilities, HyperCard externals, AppleScript additions, free programming languages, class libraries, sprite kits and debuggers. It came with a 3.5-inch high-density disk of programs and code discussed in the text, which is not part of the scan.[3][4] Chapter 3, "Trouble in Hacksville: When Good Macs Go Bad", is about system crashes, extension conflicts, trap patching and MacsBug, not hardware faults.[3]
