Every article, template and user page on the wiki has a talk page for discussing it.
Opening a talk page
[edit source]Click the Discussion tab at the top of any page, or go to Talk:Article name.
Starting a new topic
[edit source]The easiest way is the Add topic button on the talk page. Type a subject and your message and click Add topic. Your signature is added for you.
To do it in the source editor instead:
- Click Edit source on the talk page.
- Add a section heading at the bottom:
== Your topic == - Write your message.
- Sign it by typing
~~~~at the end. This adds your username and the time. - Click Save changes.
Replying
[edit source]Click Reply after the comment you are answering. The reply tool indents and signs your reply for you.
In the source editor, indent replies with colons at the start of the line and sign with ~~~~:
:Reply to the original message ~~~~ ::Reply to a reply ~~~~
Etiquette
[edit source]- Stay on topic: discuss the article, not other editors.
- Be constructive: suggest how to improve the article.
- Do not edit other people's comments; reply below them.
- Sign every post, so others know who said what and when.
