What this manual does not contain
[edit | edit source]The manual works at FRU level. It has no schematics and no component values, and a system board is a single part number. The only capacitor it mentions is the "bulging capacitor" hazard in the safety inspection guide.
What it settles
[edit | edit source]The ThinkPad 770 is also covered by a later, dedicated manual, IBM ThinkPad 770 770E 770ED 770X 770Z Hardware Maintenance Manual (S10L-9621-02, Third Edition, January 1999), which adds the 770E/ED, 770X and 770Z.
