Learn Basic For The Apple Macintosh Now 1990

Learn BASIC for the Apple Macintosh Now is a 1990 book by Michael Halvorson and David Rygmyr, with a foreword by Jerry Pournelle, published by Microsoft Press, ISBN 1-55615-314-7, Library of Congress card number 90-13263. It was sold as a book-and-disk package with the Microsoft QuickBASIC Interpreter for the Macintosh.[1] The Library of Congress record gives xv, 479 pages; the scan has 483.[2]

The preface describes chapters 1-6 as first principles (program design, the interpreter's environment, variables, decisions and loops) and chapters 7-13 as subprograms, arrays, strings, files, printing to the ImageWriter and LaserWriter, menus and windows, graphics, sound and debugging. Each chapter ends with questions and exercises, answered in Appendix B.[3]

What this book does not contain

It is a programming book. It has no service procedures, parts lists, schematics or electrical data for the Macintosh; Apple's repair documentation is in Category:Apple Service Source. The QuickBASIC Interpreter disk is not included with the scan.
