Template:Information

This template renders the provenance block at the top of a file description page. It is the wiki's record of where a file came from and under what terms, so every uploaded image, schematic and manual should carry one.

Usage

|Description = What the file shows, and why it matters to the guides that use it.
|Source      = Where it came from, with a URL where one exists.
|Date        = Date of the original work, where known.
|Author      = Who made it. For manufacturer material, name the manufacturer.
|License     = The licence, or an honest statement that the rights remain with
                the rights holder and the file is hosted for identification and
                repair reference.

Parameter names are accepted in either case, and Licence, License and Permission are interchangeable. Leave a parameter out rather than guessing at it — a blank row is honest, an invented author is not.
