Contents: 1 Systems introduction: the system box, expansion boxes, options and FRU locations; 2 Testing and troubleshooting: console mode, power-up tests and their error codes, self-test, the system exerciser, troubleshooting by device (MONO, CLK, NVR, DZ, MEM, MM, FP, IT, HDC, TPC, SYS, NI), the power supply flowchart and connector voltages, the VR260 monitor, MicroVAX 2000 terminal communications and the ROM utilities; 3 FRU removal and replacement, with the recommended spares list (p. 3-82); 4 VR260 monitor adjustments; 5 Option installation; appendices: console test commands, console commands and VMB boot error status codes.[3]

VAXstation 2000 Owner's Manual (EK-VAXAC-OM-003)
[edit | edit source]DEC's VAXstation 2000 Owner's Manual, EK-VAXAC-OM-003, the June 1988 update incorporating update notice EK-V2000-OM-CN1 (earlier printings December 1986, June 1987 and October 1987), 152 PDF pages.[4]
Contents: 1 Operating the VAXstation 2000: controls and indicators, drives and diskettes, the disk formatter, the expansion adapter and expansion boxes, the TK50 tape drive; 2 Troubleshooting: the owner's flowchart, the basic troubleshooting table (Table 2-1), power-up error messages, self-tests, the configuration display (TEST 50), the system exerciser, the fixed disk verifier, boot and recovery settings, monitor fuses and mouse maintenance; 3 Options, including memory modules and the 4-plane and 8-plane graphics coprocessors; appendix A, specifications of the system and the VR290, VR260, VR160 and VR150 monitors; B, associated documents; C, port pin-outs.[4]

VAXstation 2000 field maintenance print set (MP-02400-01)

Contents: the VS450 system building block and VS410 unit assembly with their parts lists; the 2 MB and 4 MB memory options (5416802); the KA410 system board (5416798), the VS40X colour option (5416888) and the network interface board (5416804), each with parts list and schematics; the resistor load board (5417163); the H7848 power supply print set; the VR260 monitor's video amp board (5415626) and deflection board (5415624); and keyboard drawings.[5]

H7848 power supply print set (MP-02389-01)
[edit | edit source]DEC's field maintenance print set for the H7848 power supply, variants BA (120 V) and BB (240 V), MP-02389-01, 17 PDF pages. It is a separate scan of the H7848 drawings that are also bound into MP-02400-01.[6]
Contents: unit assembly and parts list; H7848 circuit board 5416897 layout, parts list (revision C, released November 1986) and schematic; module board assembly; DC fan; AC input, DC output and floppy daisy-chain harnesses; AC power switch cable; voltage selector jumper.[6]
