| A wiki for repairing, maintaining and documenting vintage computers and consoles. |
RetroTechCollection is a wiki about the repair and maintenance of vintage computers, game consoles and their peripherals. It has 2,604 content pages and 2,956 uploaded files, including:
- maintenance, troubleshooting and capacitor replacement guides for individual machines
- scanned service manuals, schematics and technical references
- restoration procedures such as Retrobrite and recapping
- hardware upgrades and part compatibility
- history and specifications for each machine
What the wiki covers
Most pages are about home and personal computers and consoles from the 1970s to the early 2000s. The largest sections are Apple, IBM, Acorn and BBC Micro, Atari, Commodore, Sinclair, Sega, Amstrad, Nintendo and Psion. Many of these machines are now 30 to 50 years old, and the manuals and repair knowledge for them are scattered or out of print. The wiki collects that material in one place, free to read.
Created by
The RetroTechCollection wiki was created by Joshua Yewman, a retro computing enthusiast and collector, to build a structured and accurate archive of vintage hardware knowledge.
Anyone can contribute. Contributors are welcome to add their own findings, schematics and repair techniques. (I would really appreciate the help!)
