Administrators (also called sysops) are users with extra rights on RetroTechCollection: they can delete and restore pages, block users, protect pages and edit the site interface. Moderators review the edits that are held for moderation.

User Rights
Josh administrator, bureaucrat, interface administrator, moderator, suppressor

The current lists are at Special:ListUsers/sysop and Special:ListUsers/moderator.

What administrators do

  • review edits held for moderation: edits by users who are not logged in, and by accounts that have not yet been approved as trusted editors
  • approve accounts as trusted editors (the automoderated group), so that their edits appear without review
  • delete and restore pages and files under the Deletion policy
  • warn and block users under the Blocking policy
  • protect pages
  • handle removal requests from copyright holders under RetroTechCollection:Copyright violations
  • grant user rights (bureaucrats only)

How administrators must behave is set out in section 7.4 of the Terms of Use.

Contacting an administrator

Becoming an administrator

Administrator and moderator rights are granted by a bureaucrat. Volunteers can apply through the staff application linked from the Main Page.
