How to Write Macintosh Software, second edition, is a book by Scott Knaster, published by Hayden Books (a division of Howard W. Sams & Company), Indianapolis, copyright 1988, second edition first printing 1988, ISBN 0-672-48429-3, Library of Congress number 88-61959.[1] The Library of Congress record gives the extent as xx, 511 pages.[2]

The book explains how the Macintosh manages memory and what happens when a program goes wrong, then teaches debugging from compiled code with MacsBug and TMON. Appendices give a 68000 assembly language overview, common problems, a guided tour of MacsBug and a debugging quick-reference guide. The example programs were sold on a companion diskette.[3]
