Power Macintosh 4400 Service Source
The Power Macintosh 4400 volume of Apple's Service Source is a 132-page service manual covering the Power Macintosh 4400/200 and 4400/200 PC, the Far East Power Macintosh 7220/200 and 7220/200 PC, and the Europe-only Power Macintosh 4400/160. The PDF was distilled on 20 February 1997.
Service Source volumes are module-level documents. They give Apple's own specifications, symptom charts, take-apart procedures and module part numbers, but they do not carry schematics, board-level parts lists or component values, so they cannot be used to source a capacitor table. Where a figure below is quoted, it is quoted as Apple printed it.

Notable content
[edit | edit source]Two things here exist in no other volume. Basics has a dedicated Voltage Switch section — this supply is manually set, not auto-ranging, and an imported machine can arrive on the wrong setting. And Additional Procedures carries Battery Replacement for 4400s Sold in Germany, a separate procedure for a separate part. The 7220 is the same machine under a Far East model number.
What this manual does not contain
