Apple II Reference Manual - For //e Only (Apple Computer, Inc., 1982; Apple part number 030-0357-B). Apple's own hardware reference for the Apple IIe.

This is the source this wiki cites for the Apple IIe's published hardware figures, including:

  • Table 7-2, Power Supply Specifications - line voltage 107 to 132 V AC; maximum power consumption 60 W continuous, 80 W intermittent; supply voltages +5 V +-3%, +11.8 V +-6%, -5.2 V +-10%, -12 V +-10%; maximum supply currents +5 V 2.5 A, +12 V 1.5 A continuous and 2.5 A intermittent, -5 V 250 mA, -12 V 250 mA; maximum case temperature 55 degrees C. Unlike the 1979 Apple II Reference Manual, which gives nominals only, this manual does publish per-rail tolerances - but they are the IIe's, not the Apple II's.
  • The supply's self-protection behaviour: all four outputs are turned off if any output is shorted to ground, if the supply cable is disconnected, or if any output leaves its normal range.
  • The single-wire shift-key modification at the broken circle marked X6, the note that early boards with a part number ending in A have it already made, and Apple's warning that closing a hand-control switch while SHIFT is pressed short-circuits and shuts the supply down.
  • Cassette input and output, the auxiliary slot signal tables, and the 6502B timing data.
