Performa 500 Series Service Source
The Performa 500 Series volume of Apple's Service Source is a 161-page service manual covering the Performa 550, 560, 575, 577 and 578. The PDF was distilled on 5 December 1995.
Service Source volumes are module-level documents. They give Apple's own specifications, symptom charts, take-apart procedures and module part numbers, but they do not carry schematics, board-level parts lists or component values, so they cannot be used to source a capacitor table. Where a figure below is quoted, it is quoted as Apple printed it.

[edit | edit source]Apple's Light Meter Setup is the step most often skipped: the video and convergence adjustments that follow it are meaningless without it, and Apple specifies the meter and lens (Model L-248) to be used.
What this manual does not contain
[edit | edit source]- No schematic, no parts list, no component values — the analogue board is a module.
- The Adjustments chapter is Geometry, Video, Light Meter Setup, Convergence, Geometric Distortion and Yoke. There is no voltage adjustment.
