Macintosh Performa 250 Troubleshooting

The Macintosh Performa 250 is a Macintosh Performa rebadge of the Macintosh Color Classic — the two are the same hardware, sold under different names and bundles.[1] Because the logic board, analog board and power supply are identical, the Macintosh Color Classic Troubleshooting page applies in full: use it for power, video, capacitor, storage and audio diagnosis.

Common faults (shared with the Macintosh Color Classic)
[edit | edit source]As with the Macintosh Color Classic, the first steps on any un-serviced unit are to replace the electrolytic capacitors and inspect for PRAM-battery leakage and its corrosion, then confirm the power-supply rails.
