Optimizing PowerPC Code 1995

From RetroTechCollection

Optimizing PowerPC Code: Programming the PowerPC Chip in Assembly Language by Gary Kacmarcik. Addison-Wesley Publishing Company, © 1995. 692 pages in this scan.

The most detailed of the PowerPC books here at 692 pages. Chapter 2, PowerPC Architecture Overview, covers data organisation, functional units, the processor registers and 32- versus 64-bit implementations; chapter 3 covers the instruction set, its suffixes, extended forms, and — usefully for reading period code — the obsolete and optional instructions.

Not a repair source. This is a software book: no schematic, no parts list, no component value, no voltage and no fault-finding procedure for any machine. Nothing on this wiki should cite it for a hardware figure.
