AppleCD 300e Plus and AppleCD 300i Plus data sheet (1994)

Apple's two-page data sheet, document L00318C, dated March 1994. Page 1 lists features: double speed (up to 342 KB/s), 290 ms access, 256K cache, SCSI-2 with 2.5 MB/s burst rate, powered tray, headphone jack and volume control on the external model only, automatic lens cleaning, and a "tested average life" of over 125,000 hours. Page 2 has the technical specifications for both drives (external and internal power requirements, environment, size and weight) and the ordering information: AppleCD 300e Plus M2918LL/A, AppleCD 300i Plus M3152LL/A for a half-height 5.25-inch removable-drive bay (adapter kit and installation by an authorised service provider), and the SCSI cables, terminator and extender.[1]

Its external size and weight (5.9 × 15.8 × 32.3 cm, 2.60 kg) and access time (360 ms normal, 290 ms double speed, 1/3 stroke) differ from the figures in the Service Source (4.9 × 17.75 × 32.5 cm, 2.9 kg; 410 ms and 295 ms).[1]

AppleCD 600e Quad-Speed product sheet (1995)

Apple's two-page product sheet for the AppleCD 600e, scanned in colour. Page 1 lists features: quad speed (up to 684.4 KB/s in Mode 2), 167.5 ms access time, 256KB cache, SCSI-2 with 5.1 MB/s burst rate, a 125,000-hour mean time before failure, System 7.1 or later, 8 cm discs, and a front panel with headphone jack, volume control, busy LED and eject button. Page 2 gives the ordering information (M3958LL/A, supplied with a self-launching installation CD) and the technical specifications.[2]
