What it settles

[edit | edit source]
  • The owner's maintenance: cartridge cleaning from the Print Options dialog, cleaning the outside with a damp cloth and the inside with a dry one, and no ammonia-based, alcohol-based or liquid cleaners (pp. 21-24).[1]
  • The meaning of the lights: both off for no power; the amber error light steady for out of paper or a misfeed (p. 29).[1]
  • Its own specifications (pp. 33-34): 360 dpi (180 dpi draft); up to 3, 2 and 1.5 pages per minute in draft, normal and best modes; a 100-sheet or 15-envelope feeder; 90-128 V AC 48-62 Hz or 198-264 V AC 48-52 Hz; 19.5 W at 120 V and 18 W at 220 V; 18 × 34.5 × 20 cm and 3 kg. Several of these differ from the StyleWriter II Service Source, which gives 48 W, 5-35 °C and 10-90% humidity.[1]

What it does not contain

[edit | edit source]

No service information: no take-apart, no parts list and no fuse rating. The guide tells owners not to take the printer apart and to refer service to Apple.[1]
