StyleWriter II Service Source
The StyleWriter II volume of Apple's Service Source is the service manual for the Apple StyleWriter II, a serial bubble-jet ink-on-demand printer. The PDF has 60 pages and a text layer; it was produced in FrameMaker 5.0.1 and is dated December 1995 in its metadata.

Service information
[edit | edit source]The test page is printed by holding the online key for at least six seconds at power-on. It shows the ROM revision and a test pattern for the ink jets; if lines in the pattern are broken, the manual sends the reader to the Printing section of Troubleshooting (Basics, Test Page).
The symptom charts replace the fuse for a printer with no lights or movement once the power connection is checked, and several charts end at "Replace printer": the whole unit was the exchange part for faults not cured by the fuse, the cartridge or the mechanical parts. The fuse sits behind a fuse cover, reached after removing the covers and the cut sheet feeder (Take Apart, Fuse). The exploded view lists it in 125 V (922-0180) and 250 V (922-0181) versions; no current rating is printed.
The exploded view gives part numbers for the whole unit (110 V 661-0785, 220 V 661-1010) and for the covers, cut sheet feeder parts, carriage unit (922-0194), carriage motor (922-0195), carriage belt (922-0193), eject roller (922-0191) and other parts. No logic board or power supply is listed separately.
What this manual does not contain
