Nintendo Super NES Technical Manual (Playtronic, Rev. 01-94)
The Manual Técnico do Super NES (Rev. 01/94) is Nintendo's own service manual for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Super Famicom, published in Portuguese by Playtronic, Nintendo's licensed manufacturer and distributor in Brazil. It is one of the very few pieces of Nintendo 16-bit service literature to survive in a complete form, and it is the primary source for the board-level diagnostic tables used on this wiki's Super Famicom pages.

Notes for readers outside Brazil
[edit | edit source]The manual was issued for the Brazilian market, so its alignment figures are PAL-M. The master clock adjustment at TC1 is specified as approximately 21.453666 MHz, not the 21.47727 MHz of an NTSC or Japanese machine or the 17.734475 MHz crystal of a European PAL SNES. Everything else in the manual — the diagnostic tables, the disassembly sequence, the component designators and the parts lists — applies across the range.
