PDP-10 KA10 Central Processor Maintenance Manual, Volume I (DEC-10-HMAA-D)
[edit | edit source]DEC's maintenance manual for the KA10 processor, first printing December 1968, 83 pages scanned.[1] Chapters: 1 general information (physical description, configurations, characteristics, related documents); 2 system description; 3 operating procedures (operator's console, margin check and maintenance panel, bay indicators, paper tape and DECtape, teleprinter, readin); 4 central processor organisation, registers, basic cycles and the implementation of each instruction class; 6 KA10 troubleshooting and maintenance: test equipment (Table 6-1), the processor diagnostic programs (Table 6-2), troubleshooting with each group of test programs, the margin check system with per-panel margin limits (Table 6-4) and readin faults.[1] Volume II, with the engineering drawings, is on bitsavers as two large sets.[2]

PDP-10 Site Preparation Guide (DEC-10-HAAB-D)
[edit | edit source]DEC's planning guide for PDP-10 installations, May 1970, 99 pages scanned.[3] It covers delivery and floor planning, cable length rules for the I/O, memory and channel buses, environmental requirements with psychrometric charts, electrical requirements for 60 Hz and 50 Hz systems, and a data sheet for each unit giving voltage, current, power and heat dissipation, dimensions, weight, operating and storage temperature, humidity and cable limits.[3]

KS10 Maintenance Guide, Volume I (EK-OKS10-MG-001)
[edit | edit source]DEC's field guide for KS10-based DECSYSTEM-2020 systems, first edition June 1979, 128 pages scanned, marked company confidential.[4] Six tabbed sections: general information (fault analysis steps, module configuration, Unibus pin assignments, microword formats, memory map); switches and jumpers; tables and maps of device registers; checks and adjustments (Unibus adapter check, KS10 backplane power adjustment, the H7130 power supply, BA11-K backplane power adjustments); diagrams and module utilisation lists; and system software (standard boot procedure, PRE-BOOT error halts, diagnostic hierarchies, the 8080 console program and its commands and messages).[4] Volume II is on bitsavers.[2]
