Notable content
[edit | edit source]The processor is on a plug-in card (p. 8). Apple's first cure for a 9500 that does not power up is to reseat the processor card, video card and ROM SIMM, then reset the Cuda chip, then reset the logic board (p. 41). For the eight-part error chord (death chimes), Apple's first step is to check the DIMMs are installed from banks A6 and B6 downwards, leaving A1 and B1 until all the others are full (p. 43). The Basics chapter covers multi-processor support on the 9500/180MP (p. 8), the Cuda chip (p. 18), the logic board reset (pp. 19–20) and Fast SCSI (p. 21).
What this manual does not contain
[edit | edit source]- No schematic, no parts list below module level, no component values.
- No Adjustments chapter and no Additional Procedures chapter, so there is no battery verification procedure or battery voltage threshold. The battery appears in the logic board reset (p. 20).
