Service notes from the manual

  • Fuse: some units with serial numbers between 43661GXW and 44718HQX were fitted with a 1.6 A fuse on the power supply board. Apple says that value is incorrect and the correct fuse is 2.5 A.[3]
  • The Video adjustments set sub-contrast and brightness range to 31 foot-lamberts ±3 fL, measured with Apple's R77 (part 076-0310), L-248 or 246 light meter; the Light Meter Setup section gives the meter reading that corresponds to 31 fL on each model.[4]
  • The Monitor Stand symptom chart covers a stand that will not swivel (check that the "Front" marks on the tilt/swivel mechanism and base line up, and that the snap lock assembly is in place) or will not tilt (check the plastic plug in the snap lock).[5]
  • The Basics chapter is about environmental distortion of the raster, to be ruled out before adjusting or exchanging the monitor.[1]
