The circuit diagram of the control PCB on page 10 carries component designators and values, with resistors in ohms and capacitors in µF unless marked otherwise. The electrical parts list on page 22 gives part numbers for the ICs (including the MBL8039 CPU, the MBM2732 ROM, the HM6116P-4 RAM, the MBL8243 I/O expander and the GP-DR-2 driver), the µA7805UC regulator, the transistors and diodes, the S2VB10 bridge rectifier, the ceramic resonator, the resistor arrays and the two 3300 µF / 50 V capacitors (parts 170712 and 170713). The mechanical parts list on page 12 includes the print head unit (170621), the timing belt (170626) and the head PCB assembly (170631).

* '''The electrical parts list is not a full bill of materials.''' Page 22 lists the ICs by type and part number (74LS04, 74LS374, 74LS32, 74LS373, HM6116P-4, ULN2003, the MBL8039 CPU, the MBM2732 ROM, 7404, 74LS74, the MBL8243 I/O and the GP-DR-2 driver), the transistors and the '''µA7805UC regulator''', the diodes and bridge rectifier, the ceramic oscillator, the DIP switch, four resistor arrays and two power resistors — and then '''only two capacitors, both 3300 µF / 50 V''' (parts 170712 and 170713). '''No other capacitor values are published.''' Anything else on this board has to be read off the part itself.
The troubleshooting section works through seven symptoms, from a power lamp that does not light to a self test that does not run, with each cause keyed to the exploded-view reference numbers.
* '''No circuit diagram with component designators''' — the PCB pattern drawings show the tracks and component outlines, not a schematic with values.
* '''No print head part number''' or head replacement procedure beyond the position adjustment.
* Nothing on the DMP2000, DMP3000, DMP4000 or LQ3500.

What it covers

[edit | edit source]

The troubleshooting section works through seven symptoms, from a power lamp that does not light to a self test that does not run, with each cause keyed to the exploded-view reference numbers.
