'''It is an applications book, not a service document.''' It carries '''no schematics, no parts list, no component values and no board layouts''', and it is not a source for a repair figure. Citing it for a capacitor value, a voltage rating or a chip location would be citing the wrong kind of document.

The Working Commodore 64: A library of practical subroutines and programs is a book by David Lawrence, published in London by Sunshine Books (an imprint of Scot Press). It was first published in February 1983; the hosted scan is from a printing after the third reprint of October 1983. ISBN 0-946408-02-5.[1] The numbered pages in this printing run to 176. The British Library record gives 137 pages.[2]

It is a collection of BASIC application programs for the Commodore 64, written in modules that are tested as they are typed in and can be reused in the reader's own programs. Lawrence based its structure on two earlier books in the same series for other machines.[3] The programs include a clock, a graph plotter and a simple word processor; merge, delete and renumber tools; a character, sprite and bitmap graphics set; the Unifile filing system; educational programs; banking, accounts and budget programs; and a music chapter.[4]
